AA Thornton again takes part in the Praktika Extern programme
Home / News & Articles / AA Thornton again takes part in the Praktika Extern programme
Following successful involvement in 2013, we are delighted to once again participate in the European Patent Office (EPO) Praktika Extern programme. The programme provides an opportunity for EPO examiners to spend several weeks with a host firm and this year we are very pleased to welcome EPO examiner Emmanuel Berthommé into our Engineering, Physics & Mechanical devices Department.
The programme gives examiners and hosting firms the opportunity to interact and exchange knowledge from their respective roles, and to consequently foster a greater understanding between both parties.
Adrian Bennett, Partner in the Engineering, Physics & Mechanical devices patent department commented on the programme:
“The Praktika Extern programme continues to provide a uniquely engaging opportunity for attorneys of AA Thornton to work closely with EPO Examiners, with attorneys explaining the challenges they face in their day to day work and similarly learning about the challenges facing EPO Examiners and discussing how, as attorneys, they and the EPO can work with increased effectiveness for the benefit of patent applicants. We are very grateful to Emmanuel for his time with our firm and look forward to supporting this programme again in the future.”
